FAGUS was started in 1993 following a series of gardening classes run by much respected local horticulturist Mary Payne MBE. The aim was to have sufficient “pennies in the piggy bank” to be able to engage high calibre speakers and familiar names, from home and abroad, that smaller clubs cannot afford. Our membership currently stands at around 250. Notable speakers include Beth Chatto, Dan Pearson, Chris Beardshaw, Dan Hinkley, Roy Lancaster, Adam Frost and Anna Pavord.
Affiliations
FAGUS is pleased to be affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society and The Somerset Federation of Garden Clubs.
