A self-drive Visit to two Gloucestershire gardens

Morning, 10.30:  South Cerney House Garden near Cirencester

A romantic secret garden with a secluded walled garden featuring herbaceous borders overflowing with colour.  There is also an organic kitchen garden, a medicinal herb garden and there are extensive woodland walks through 40 acres of Cotswold parkland.

Afternoon:, 2.30: Hookshouse Pottery Gardens

An organically run 1.33-acre garden surrounded by beautiful countryside.  There is an informal area with 2 ponds and a new woodland garden. There are flower meadows and colourful herbaceous borders. The garden offers a combination of long perspectives and intimate corners.  There is also a kitchen garden with raised beds and an orchard.  The pottery showroom has hand thrown woodfired pots and frost proof garden pots.
