Monday, 16 October 2023 at 8:00 pm - 9:15 pm

I started my Horticulture career in 1983 becoming a Parks Department Trainee Garden in Swindon doing City & Guilds Ornamental Horticulture at Lackham College on a day release basis over 3 years. After finishing this traineeship I took a job as Greenkeeper with Swindon Parks at Broome Manor Golf course where I stayed for 16 years working my way up to Deputy Head.

I then wanted to return to working with plants and work in the private sector for my first time. I worked at Several large private estates and gardens for 13 years before going Self employed in 2013 which I have continued doing so until this day.

I now work for a variety of country houses & estates mainly in South Glos & North Wiltshire with a few further field and my work is very varied from garden consultation, garden restoration, design & build, specialist renovation pruning, general pruning including a lot of trained fruit, topiary & ornamental hedges.

My main personal plant passions are Snowdrops, Ferns, Shade & Woodland plants, alpines, dahlias, other tropical style plants and many more besides.”

Please note: Although Andrew worked at Highgrove many years ago, this talk and Q&A will not cover anything to do with his time there.
