Lecture by Laura De Beden

Monday, 17 May 2021 at 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

A Zoom lecture with Laura De Beden –

Italian Gardens, their beauty, meaning and relevance today

Laura has a deep knowledge of the arts, design and plants. She was a plant baby from birth, and all her memories, even the early ones, show an awareness and love for plants. She studied Humanities and Foreign Languages and Literatures in Italy, then commuted to England every week at first to take up Landscape Arch and graduated from Birmingham University. She also studied Garden Design with John Brookes who asked her to teach with him in South America. She won a permanent position in L.A. at Kingston University, and remained for 16 years, later expanding her lecturing to the Chelsea Physic Garden, National Trust, and Nadfas, now known as The Arts Society.

You will need to book a place as this lecture will NOT be recorded. Please respond to fagusgardening@outlook.com with your email on or before 15 May

With the prospect of meeting up in person still not certain as yet, we do hope you will join us if you have not done so already. We are very happy to give you a run through if you have not used Zoom before (it is very straightforward) and so many members have said how nice it is to see familiar faces as well as enjoying the lectures, they do seem to give everyone a lift in spirits.

Best wishes, Wendy Musson, Fagus Speaker Secretary
